The Joynt Gets Outfitted by WNDUP FX

In his new Capcity (Sens Mix) video, The Joynt is proudly sporting a WNDUP FX hat. WNUP FX is an Ottawa-based clothing company that asked The Joynt to come onboard and rep their brand. Peter and WNDUP FX owner, Scot McCormack, worked together to design the logo featured in the video. They wanted a design that had a local-spin to it. So they settled on the “Two Rivers” logo, which represents the two rivers that flow through the city of Ottawa. You can buy the Two Rivers hat and other WNDUP FX gear on the WNDUP FX website.

 

The Joynt Drops Anthem for OTTAWA SENATORS

The Ottawa Senators reached out to Peter Joynt immediately after he dropped Capcity in November 2011. They expressed their interest in having The Joynt do a Sens version of Capcity for them to play at games and post on their official website. The Proposal Video Goes Live, Gets Coverage on Citizen Website

The Joynt released his video for The Proposal on December 15. The song was used to propose to Peter’s now-fiancée. The whole event was captured using a hidden camera, and hidden microphones. If you watch right to end of the video, you can get a glimpse into what happened the actual day of the proposal. The video was beautifully shot and produced by Michael Napiorkowski & Maayke Schurer.

In step with the success of his recent Capcity video, Peter Joynt was featured on the cover of the Kitchissippi Times for the week of November 17th.  Peter opened his doors to the Kitchissippi Times, a local publication for the neighbourhood in which Peter lives, where he discussed his music and his love for the neighbourhood. CBC Broadcasts Capcity Interview Nationwide

The interview Peter did for CBC’s Ottawa Morning on November 2nd was broadcast across Canada through a variety of programs the week of November 7th. The interview was heard in cities as close as Montreal and Toronto, and as far away as Vancouver. One such program to pick up the interview was “The Story From Here,” which was broadcast out of Winnipeg on November 9th. Listen for yourself in part 2 of the episode.

 

The Joynt to Perform at Accenture Charity Jam Nov. 25

The Joynt will be performing at the Accenture Charity Jam on Friday, November 25th at Lago Bar and Grill. Tickets are $20 each, and limited numbers are available. The city is buzzing with talk of the The Joynt’s new Capcity video. Amongst other publications, he was featured on the cover of the Ottawa Citizen on November 2, 2011. His tribute to Ottawa earned him an email from Mayor, Jim Watson; interest from the Ottawa Senators and other organizations, as well as huge press from the blogosphere and beyond. The Joynt Pops the Question!

On Friday, June 24, 2011, Peter Joynt proposed to his girlfriend, Marjorie Cole, through a song he wrote for the  the occasion. He captured the whole thing using hidden microphones and a hidden video camera. Peter has since added the audio of Marj’s reaction to the final mix of the song.

The Joynt - Working on a New Album, Making Friends Along the Way

The Joynt is busy working on a new album. He’s been breaking new ground and collaborating with other talented artists in an effort to broaden his sound. He has released the new track “You Know (feat. Olex)” to give people a taste of what’s to come.

 

You Know was written, produced, and performed by Peter Joynt, and features the silky vocals of the talented Olexandra Pruchnicky, who was featured in the Erotica issue of Guerilla Magazine.

The Joynt was featured on the arts website Apt.613 on September 15, 2010. The article plugged his upcoming show, and touched on his rhymes, his stutter, and more.

The Joynt Video Short-Listed at Ottawa International Film Festival

We submitted the “Bless it like a Baptist” video as part of the Ottawa International Film Festival’s music video challenge.  The video didn’t win, but was short listed to the top 10 videos (of 21), and screened for some 200 viewers on August 20, 2010. It was an honour to be a part of the festival, and the 2011 festival stands to be even bigger and better. Big thanks and congratulations to the film festival organizers. We’ll see you next year!

 

 

The Joynt Live at the A\V Throw-Down – Sept. 16, 2010

 

 

 

Come check out the A\V Throw-Down! The evening will feature live hip-hop by The Joynt, spinnings by DJ Dusty, and a screening of “DJ Yoda Goes to the Movies.” The show takes place Thursday, September 16 at the Clarendon (15 George Street) in Ottawa. Doors at 8:00 p.m. and cover is $5.

“DJ Yoda Goes to the Movies” is an insane flick, where DJ Yoda scratches your favourite Hollywood DVD’s and mashes them together with a hip-hop soundtrack. You won’t want to miss the screening of this movie!
